Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Erdve. The freshly conceived Lithuanian experimental hardcore collective will release their debut full-length, 'Vaitojimas' through Season of Mist. The band comments: "Since Erdve is a very young name, this collaboration is proof that it is all about what matters the most - the music itself. We certainly did not have any expectations that the record could be presented to a wider audience, yet we are extremely proud and happy that our desire to create something meaningful for ourselves has procured a relationship with a record label which believes in artistic value. This partnership is a huge achievement in our creative lives and will set a strong basis for us to communicate our music, ideas, and artistic identity further on. We are incredibly thankful to Season of Mist for this opportunity.'' When Erdve formed in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius in 2016, the band had a clear aesthetic vision of creating a unique heavy sound that experimented with elements from hardcore, sludge, and black metal, yet was not bound by any unwritten "rules" surrounding those genres. Erdve's members had already been active in their local scene and performed in various acts such as NYKSTA, SRAIGĖS EFEKTAS, and SPIRALE. The core ideas of Erdve are translated into lyrics, visuals, and sound by in-depth reflection on concepts such as domestic violence, utmost disgusting behaviour, crimes against humanity, and extremism. Erdve will release their debut album, 'Vaitojimas'' on Season Of Mist in 2018. Line-up Vaidotas: guitar, vocals Kristijonas: guitar, soundscapes Krizas: bass Valdas: drums www.facebook.com/erdvelt

Italian Sludge metallers Sator teamed up with Tometal to stream the new album “Ordeal”. https://tometal.com/album-premiere-italian-sludge-doom-band-sator/ Sator's “Ordeal”, the new forthcoming full length, is a monster made of harsh sludge madness and psychedelic structures. “Ordeal” will be released by Argonauta Records and is available from September 1st, 2017. Pre orders run here: CD: http://bit.ly/2ttGEuq Digital Download: http://apple.co/2uniWvQ Finnish doom / sludge titans Morbid Evils stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, Deceases, at Metal Hammer UK's website. Set for international release on August 25th via Svart Records, hear Morbid Evils' Deceases in its entirety exclusively HERE. A counterpart of sorts to vocalist Keijo Niinimaa's older group Rotten Sound, Morbid Evils have become known for exploring slower tempos and the lower end of the sonic spectrum, all topped with a fascination with the morbid realities of our hopeless existence. Having so far survived touring with Voivod and the impending global eco-catastrophe, Morbid Evils spent the best part of 2016 hidden in sweaty underground conditions perfecting their craft, working on the follow-up to their 2015 album In Hate With The Burning World. Comments Niinimaa, "When producing these tracks, I paid special attention on making things as heavy and suffocating as possible, to emphasize the deadly seriousness of the world this music is taking us to." Come 2017, the band emerges from the pit with a paean to death, split in six sections, each examining the subject from various positions. Titled Deceases, the album takes a bold leap from their sludge-death metalish origins and towards a more original, minimalist approach. The air hangs heavy as droning, buzzing walls of down-tuned guitars grind against punishingly pummelling drums in slow motion and everything around us seems to be another step closer to death. While wallowing in the unpleasantries of life, Morbid Evils manage to churn out something wholly original in the congested sludge metal genre - if a grind/drone hybrid existed, it might sound like this. With their down-tuned slo-mo aesthetics, nasty black metal-ish buzzsaw guitar harmonies, and a drone metal-like sense of space in music, Morbid Evils are on a path of their own. Adorning the album cover is the painting "Tukala Pietari" by Jerker Ramberg. Sounds on the album were captured on tape and mixed by Keijo Niinimaa, with mastering duties handled by Pelle Henricsson of Tonteknik. The album will be released by Svart Records on CD, LP, and digital formats on August 25th, if the world doesn't end sooner. Until that time inevitably comes, stream the entirety of Deceases exclusively HERE, courtesy of Metal Hammer, the UK's premier metal/rock authority. Additionally, for your visual delectation, see & hear the previously revealed video for "Case IV - Tumour" exclusively HERE, courtesy of CVLTNation.com. Sydney's LO! literally made a splash last year with the ingenious video clip for "Orca," produced by bass player Adrian Shapiro himself. The clip showed vocalist Sam Dillon as a vicious creature emerging from a vat of shiny pink goo, in front of an otherwise completely black background. Pink in metal? The clip went viral over the love-it-or-hate-it discussion that followed... but even the haters had to admit that this clip, premiered via Noisey, Metal Hammer, and Decibel, showed a truly outstanding and innovative approach to visual arts in heavy music. LO!'s third full length album Vestigial - set for release via Pelagic Records October 6th -- is next level. The songs are well-crafted and have a larger scope, the sound is heavy yet organic, there's a mammoth harmonic density behind the stupefying heavy riffs, and the band sounds tighter than ever before. One of the reasons might be that drummer Adrian Griffin, who has spent the last seven years in Asia, returned to Australia. "This time we had much more time to all be together as a band and really work on the songs properly instead of the last-minute rush that usually happens. I think we all felt more connected now having Adrian back in the country," comments guitarist Carl Whitbread. "LO! have come to remind you of glorious times; times when Mastodon were using samples of Jurassic Park to kick off their records," wrote Metal Hammer UK on the band's debut album Look And Behold. And in fact, song titles like "Megafauna" or "Hall Of Extinct Mammals" show that LO! have always been interested in man's relationship with the natural world. Themes of extinction, circuses, and animal exploitation were explored on the band's 2015 EP The Tongueless, "so it was a nice lead in to where we are at now on Vestigial," notes vocalist Sam Dillon, "with a revisit of the outro from the EP as the intro on album number three." "A world where politics resemble black comedies, where guns have become an aspect of culture, and where addiction to technology is the norm is at the lyrical heart of Vestigial. "There are several repeated characters throughout the album," Dillon reveals. "The Judas Steer, the Locust Christ... these are anti-heroes, the wolves among sheep figuratively. The ghastly Donald Trumps, The Kim Jong-Uns, the extremists and ignorant tyrants of our modern lives..." After a European tour supporting Cult Of Luna in 2013, including a performance at Roadburn Festival, the band will be back in Europe this October to present Vestigial. Fit for fans of Mastodon, Cursed, Cult Of Luna, Converge, Breach, Black Breath, and the like. LO!'s Vestigial will see release on October 6th on CD, LP, and digital formats. Be Nothing” is the natural follow-up to their recent and critically acclaimed self titled EP, and it captures the band at its very best with a sound briefly comparable to the works of Suma, Dopethrone and Bongripper. Crackhouse's “Be No One. Be Nothing” will be released in CD / DD by Argonauta Records and available from October 6th, 2017. It's extremely thick, grimy and oppressive. Check out their music here, you won't be disappointed! Dense and suffocating, Tarlung's music crawls along ponderously, squeezing the life out of its listeners. This kind of expression in sludge is rarely done but ends up being most satisfying. The riffs command the direction, as within the mire of the deafening sludge you have catchy hooks and memorable tunes. Influences from closely related genres such as death metal and even stoner doom coalesce to form their monolithic sound. This is the band's latest full length album and it lays waste to everything else they've done before. Listen to one of the heaviest albums in this style and quiver under its might. TARLUNG Bandcamp TARLUNG Facebook Nuclear Oath is a five-member groovy, heavy, sludgy, intense, and interactive metal wrecking crew from Medicine Hat, Alberta. Influenced by such bands as Pantera, Slipknot, Sylosis, Lamb of God, and Avenged Sevenfold, they will be releasing their new album ‘Toxic Playground’ on June 9, 2017 to follow their debut EP 'Ashes of the Unborn'. The forthcoming album will take the listeners on a journey inspired by the band's personal experience and struggles combined with intense energy. They hope each individual who listens takes something different from the band. "We feel it is an aggressive album from start-to-finish, which generates different emotions as the album progresses.” says the band. Teaming up with TheGauntlet.com, Nuclear Oath premiere the second cut and the album's title track 'Toxic Playground'. Bassist Nathanael Bohnet comments: “This is the title track off the album and also the last song we wrote for the album. We wanted to aim to make the track as hard hitting as possible with it still maintaining a strong structure. Overall, we feel this song properly captures the feel of the entire album, musically and lyrically.” Check out 'Toxic Playground' at the following link: http://thegauntlet.com/article/32806/THE-GAUNTLET-PREMIEREs-NUCLEAR-OATH-2nd-Single-TOXIC-PLAYGROUND- Album pre-order available at https://nuclearoath.bandcamp.com/album/toxic-playground
Greek post-sludge formation Allochiria premiere the new video "Lifespotting" at slow 'n' low authority The Sludgelord. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated second album, Throes, set for international release on March 17th via Art of Propaganda. See/hear Allochiria's "Lifespotting" video exclusively HERE. Allochiria were formed in 2008 in Athens, Greece, and released a self-titled EP in 2010. In January 2014, they released their first full-length album, Omonoia. But in December 2016, Allochiria joined forces with Art of Propaganda for the release of the band’s second album, Throes. Having shared the stage with Deafheaven, Year of No Light, Altar of Plagues, and many more, as well as undertaking their first European tour in March 2015, Allochiria's live experience becomes readily apparent across the vast expanses of Throes. Although their music has often been likened to Neurosis, ISIS, Amenra, and Cult of Luna, Allochiria assert their own identity in the post-sludge realm with their deep exploration of very human themes. With Throes, its theme explores man as a social being, the corruption that defines him in modern societies, his vain struggles, painful routine, and the effect this has in the world around him. In that regard, Throes retains the same concept as Omonoia, which has man in its main area of interest. But this time, Allochiria's pursuit of that concept is angrier and more direct, making for an even more intense listen. Speaking directly to mankind, Throes expresses anger, pain, and agony in a higher degree; living beings are being killed, drowned, destroyed, and left helpless, and the rest either cause this or witness it. We mourn a little bit, and then go on with our lives - we are hopeless and weak. This is Throes, and Allochiria are guiding its maelstrom. Go deeper into that maelstrom with the video for "Lifespotting" exclusively HERE, courtesy of The Sludgelord webzine. Take the first step into that maelstrom with "Counting Fives," which can be heard exclusively HERE.
